As the year draws to a close, we often rush to measure it. By achievements. Milestones. How close we came to the goals we set back in January. Not every year is meant to be a highlight reel. Some years are for building foundations, not crossing finish lines. Some years are for healing what was ignored, confronting what was uncomfortable, and discovering a depth within yourself you didn’t know existed.
If this year brought wins, celebrate them. Pause long enough to truly feel the pride, the gratitude and the quiet confidence of how far you’ve come. If this year was hard,if it stretched you, tested you, or asked more of you than you thought you had, celebrate that too.
You don’t grow in the comfort zone. You grow in the stretch zone, the space between who you were and who you’re becoming. And that space? It’s uncomfortable by design.
I’ll share this honestly; this has been one of the most challenging years of my career. Not because I failed, but because I grew. Deeply, intentionally and sometimes painfully. I couldn’t have navigated it without the incredible support around me, close friendships, professional support and a network that reminded me I didn’t have to do it alone. The pressures of the modern world are intense, and none of us are meant to carry them in isolation.
Whatever this year brought you, success, struggle, or something in between, be proud of yourself.
Be proud of how you showed up.
Be proud of what you survived.
Be proud of what you learned.
Try saying this, even quietly: “I’m proud of how I showed up for myself this year, especially when it was hard.”
As the year closes, reflect gently:
What did this year teach you about yourself?
Where did you expand, even if it didn’t look like progress at the time?
What parts of you are ready to lead in the year ahead?
Whether this year lifted you or stretched you, both are progress. Both are movement. Both are evolution.
If you’re feeling called to enter the next chapter with more clarity, confidence and self trust, this is the work I support clients with every day. You don’t have to navigate growth alone. Wishing you a grounded, expansive and deeply aligned year ahead.
